A total of 67 students from the Diploma in Laboratory Technology, Diploma in Medical and Health Science, and other diploma programmes recently participated in a Cyber Safe Awareness Talk organised by the Library and Resource Centre Unit (STAD) at Cyberjaya College.
The cybersecurity awareness programme was conducted by Ms. Crystal Eleanor from Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS) with the objective of educating students on cyber safety, responsible digital behaviour, and the importance of protecting personal information in today’s technology-driven environment.
Throughout the session, students were introduced to common cyber threats faced by internet users, including phishing scams, malware attacks, identity theft, cyberbullying, and online fraud. The talk also highlighted practical online safety measures such as creating strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, safeguarding personal data, and recognising suspicious emails and websites.
Interactive discussions and real-world examples helped students better understand the potential risks of unsafe online behaviour while encouraging greater awareness of cybersecurity practices in both academic and personal settings.
The session provided valuable exposure to current digital safety challenges and reinforced the importance of becoming responsible and informed digital users. Through initiatives like this, Cyberjaya College continues to support student development beyond the classroom by promoting digital literacy, cyber awareness, and safe technology practices among students.
