Students from the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (DECE) at Cyberjaya College Kuching recently organised the Play & Learn Corner during Hari Ko-Kurikulum & Keusahawanan 2.0 at SMKA Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab, Kuching, providing children with a fun and interactive learning experience through play.
The event brought together children, parents, teachers, and members of the local community for a series of engaging educational activities, including puzzles, building blocks, arts and crafts, and interactive games. Designed around the principles of play-based learning, each activity encouraged creativity, critical thinking, communication, and social interaction while supporting the holistic development of young learners.
For the DECE students, the programme served as a valuable experiential learning opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real educational setting. By planning, organising, and facilitating age-appropriate learning activities, students strengthened essential skills in lesson planning, classroom management, child engagement, and early childhood teaching practices.
The initiative reflects Cyberjaya College Kuching's commitment to producing competent and compassionate early childhood educators through practical, community-based learning experiences. By participating in outreach programmes such as this, students gain industry-relevant experience while making a positive impact on children's learning and development.
Cyberjaya College Kuching extends its sincere appreciation to SMKA Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul Wahab for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to collaborate on this meaningful programme. Through partnerships with schools and the community, the college continues to provide authentic learning experiences that prepare future educators to inspire the next generation.
